The Journey

under the umbrella of love
the rules change
the tolerance kicks in
respect stays solid
yet the lines fade away
you pull when I push
I pull when you push
we navigate the rough ocean
till we reach the destination
no matter who saves the ship
.. it sails, we sail
.. it sinks, we sink
yet the journey is what matters
the company is what matters
the spirit, the laughs, the memories matter
we look at those
who played it safe
who never took the risk
who never left the shore
it's the best they know
yet they have no clue
how much they've missed
and how much we’re blessed
life is about choices
some go great
some don't
but if you never try,
you'll never know
to those who don't quit
who don't follow the herd
who take the high road
who aim high
who practice patience
who are thoughtful
who are decent
who don’t keep their options open
who stay positive
those who believe
..  they shall pass
